For the dough:

  • Wheat flour
  • Salt
  • Water

For the panner filling:

  • Paneer, crumbled
  • Onion, finely chopped
  • Green Chili, finely chopped
  • Fresh coriander, chopped
  • Cumin seeds
  • Red chili powder
  • Garam masala
  • Salt
  • Ghee or  oil


For the dough:

  • Wheat flour - 2 whole cups 
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Water as needed

For the panner filling:

  • Paneer, crumbled - 1 cup
  • Onion, finely chopped - 1
  • Green Chili, finely chopped - 1
  • Fresh coriander, chopped - 2 tablespoon
  • Cumin seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Red chili powder - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt to taste
  • Ghee or  oil for cooking


  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour and salt. Gradually add water and knead to form a smooth dough. Cover and let it rest for 15-20 minutes.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the crumbled paneer, chopped onions, green chili, coriander, cumin seeds, red chili powder, garam masala, and salt. Ensure all the spices are evenly distributed in the mixture.
  • Dive the dough into small equal-sized balls. Take one ball and roll it out into a small disc on a lightly floured surface.
  • Place a spoonful of the paneer filling in the center of the disc. Gather the edges of the disc towards the center to cover the filling and form a stuffed ball.
  • Flatten the stuffed ball and roll it out gently into a circular paratha, about 6-7 inches in diameter. Dust with flour as needed to prevent sticking.
  • Heat a tawa (flat griddle) or a non-stick pan over medium heat. Place the rolled paratha on the heated surface.
  • Cook for about 1-2 minutes until you see small bubbles forming on the surface. Flip the paratha and spread a teaspoon of ghee or oil on the cooked side.
  • Cook the other side for another 1-2 minutes until golden brown spots appear. Press the edges gently with a spatula to ensure even cooking.
  • Remove the cooked paratha from the pan and place it on a plate. Repeat the process with the remaining dough balls and paneer filling.
  • Serve the hot Panner Parathas with a side dish like yogurt, pickle, or any chutney of your choice.
